2018년 그 어느 해 보다 활발한 활동을 펼친 아이콘이 새로운 앨범 [NEW KIDS : THE FINAL]을 통해 한 해 세 번째 컴백이라는 보기 드문 행보를 걷는다.

이번 앨범의 타이틀곡 [이별길]은 올해 초 대중의 큰 사랑을 받은 [사랑을 했다]와 막판까지 타이틀로 경쟁했던 곡이다.

가을의 계절감과 너무도 잘 어울려 1년 가까이 공개 시기를 기다려온 곡으로, 이별에 대한 서정적인 아름다운 가사와 멜로디가 압권인 곡이다.
